Message from the Web Team

WELCOME, THETANS!

This website is a reincarnation of an earlier effort that temporarily went offline due to some constraints. A new web team has been formed to re-establish the online presence of Alpha Phi Omega (Philippines) - Theta Chapter and hopefully this renewed effort would result in a more permanent, dynamic, and useful website for the residents and alumni of our beloved chapter.

Our attachment to Alpha Phi Omega, even decades after we have shed our resident status to become alumni ourselves, stems from the life-shaping influence that our great fraternity has had on us. Indeed, if we learned properly and well, from our pledgeship through to our initiation and rituals, the timeless and universal principles that our revered Brother Frank Reed Horton espoused when he founded Alpha Phi Omega on 16 December 1925, then we all ought to rightly claim that the tenets and virtues we learned as residents have now become the solid bedrock upon which our character rests.

We hope that this website will become a frequently visited corner of the internet for every Thetan (in fact why not bookmark it or even make it your homepage) so that we could have a more dynamic interaction between Thetans from every generation since our founding year. Take the time, too, to invite other Thetans who may not be aware of this website to visit it. The APO Theta Web Team would only be glad to provide access after a thorough verification and authentication process.

The APO Web Team, particularly the webmaster, has also put a lot of effort into designing a website that not only serves as a useful information resource for all Thetans, but that would also engage us in an active, collegial, and productive discussion on how Theta could reassert its role as an APO cog and stalwart in terms of us reinvigorating our heritage as a service fraternity and sorority. Let us rekindle, through this website, the fire in our bellies that made us such proactive and enthusiastic proponents of service to humankind and help contribute to Alpha Phi Omega realizing its potential for helping make this world a better place for this generation and for posterity. In particular, APO Theta should perhaps explore service initiatives that could position the Alpha Phi Omega in the Philippines as a catalyst for change in a country driven by hopelessness and despair about the future.

The APO Theta Web Team hopes that everyone who visits this website would find in himself or herself a rekindled commitment to live true to the principles and ideals of Alpha Phi Omega. May we always be…
